Trainer: Alexander
Trainee/s: Liz, Megan, Sarah, PB, Tayler, Mitch, David
Follow: Day 3:
Over all the class was just okay. Definitely NOT one of our stronger groups.
Megan was the stand out from the class. She is solid and showed initiative.
Liz was the second best. She is very good and I see her excelling the most in this class once she becomes more comfortable with the process, vision and culture of the Alamo.
Sarah was solid. She could benefit from improving her listening skills but she is sharp and will be a good fit.
PB: He is okay but definitely is using the fact that he knows so many servers as a crutch. It's almost as if he assumes something is already guaranteed to him. Over all though he is doing an okay job.
Tayler has the potential to be a "sleeper"/wild card. He seems like he has what it takes to be phenomenal and I am excited to see if he steps up his game once he is done with training. As far as today went though, he was good.
Mitch is very intelligent but is not accustomed to the physical demand of the job. I spoke to him about it and he is confident he will get used to it. We need to make sure we keep an eye on this. Today, he was okay.
David worries me. I'm not sure he takes this job seriously and he reminds me a bit of a class clown. I hope to be proven wrong but he was tied for the weakest new hire in this class.
Test Scores:
Megan: 98%
Tayler: 96.5%
Mitch: 94.5
Liz: 92.5
Sarah: 97%
PB: 90% (Re-take score)
David: Needs to retake test*
What roles do you see the trainee/s attaining in their future with the Alamo Drafthouse family?
Megan: expo then bar
Tayler: expo then tickets then server
Mitch: runner
Liz: expo
Sarah: expo
PB: expo
David: runner
Did you cover all topics on the Follow Card? Yes
Do you feel that the trainee/s was given enough guidance? Yes
What was something you learned from this train? Day one and day two trains should always be done by two different trainers as to offer different approaches. Mario (/future schedule writer) please make this happen with the schedule. Also, can we train up one more trainer? See me for suggestions
What feedback do you have to improve our training efforts? We need to have all basic operations in place and logical back up plans in place in order to run the business. We had a theatre today in which the runner station had no light. How can we expect our runners, especially new runners, to perform their job at the highest level if we don't even provide them the tools they need to succeed?
