Trainer: Brandon
Trainee/s: Gary (Dallas KM MIT)
Follow: Runner Day 1-3
Please give a brief overview of the trainee/s performance during their follow, including strengths and weaknesses. List each in order if multiple trainees are present.
He has been at our store for about 5 weeks and is very familiar with a lot of our systems. He was interested in going over all of the points in the follow cards even though he knew most of them already. His biggest strength was just being interested in what I had to say. His weakness was mostly physical (crouching and speed of service). He kept saying "I'm too old for this" but, really aren't we all? By the end of the day he was able to complete all of the tasks more than sufficiently.
If Day Three Follow, please post trainee/s Certification score and/or retake score.
We went over all of the days and reviewed the test but, as an MIT doing all 3 days at once we agreed to let him review the information a little longer. Didn't record his grade.
What roles do you see the trainee/s attaining in their future with the Alamo Drafthouse family?
Dallas Kitchen Manager
Did you cover all topics on the Follow Card?
Yes
Do you feel that the trainee/s was given enough guidance?
Yes
What was something you learned from this train?
It was the first time I had done all 3 days of runner training and the first time training an MIT that had significant knowledge of the company. I had to tailor my training style to something more familiar to a current employee instead of something for a new hire.
What feedback do you have to improve our training efforts?
I believe it might be better to move the "How to make popcorn" step to day 2 of running to pair it with cleaning of the popcorn machine. That way you get all of your exposure to that area on the same day and it's easier to retain.
