Date: 7/9/2013
Trainer: Brandon Kirkland
Trainee/s:
1) Sarah Mercado
2) Caroline Rojas (or Rosario but, she prefers Caroline)
3) Richard Milbourn
Follow: Day 1 Runner Training
Please give a brief overview of the trainee/s performance during their follow, including strengths and weaknesses. List each in order if multiple trainees are present.
1) Sarah Mercado - Girlfriend of Mike from the bar, friend of Kaitlyn Amin and Megan Parsons. Knows the drafthouse pretty well and picked up on most of the training pretty easily. Seemed to have a sensitivity to smells (aka dumpster and bathrooms haha). Had food service experience but, had never used trays before. Practiced for about 20 minutes, may need more.
2) Caroline Rojas - Movie lover who is excited to work at the Drafthouse. Probably picked up things the easiest out of the group. Never had food service but, had a good amount of customer service. Also practiced with trays for a while. Pretty strong across the board.
3) Richard Milbourn - Had food service experience and didn't need practice with trays but, seemed to have a bit of trouble memorizing the cleaning steps (theaters and bathrooms) and also needed a few reminders while running food. I believe he just has a poor short term memory and these problems will go away quickly with more practice.
If Day Three Follow, please post trainee/s Certification score and/or retake score.
N/A
What roles do you see the trainee/s attaining in their future with the Alamo Drafthouse family?
1) Sarah Mercado - Serving/Bar
2) Caroline Rojas - Server
3) Richard Milbourn - Server
Did you cover all topics on the Follow Card?
Everything other than the popcorn machine again. If for some reason anybody has an objection to leaving this step out, please contact me and I'll be happy to re-add it.
Do you feel that the trainee/s was given enough guidance?
Yes
What was something you learned from this train?
Having the earlier in-time and an extra trainee made cleaning the lobby much more smooth. The latest movie today started seating at 11am though so I had to finish the theater clean steps outside of the theater (but, got a 134 person clean in right afterwards and went well).
What feedback do you have to improve our training efforts?
If everybody else is into it I'd like to get together with the other trainers once a month-ish just to rehash how things are going and discuss possible changes-to-be-made. This can be online or in-person and doesn't necessarily have to be a meeting at work. Maybe pizza or happy hour or something.
